I played around with this pattern for a bit and thought I’d write out what I came up with, because the chart is actually pretty tiny and it might be hard for some people to read.
Row 2 and all even rows: work back in pattern, knitting the knit stitches and purling the purl stitches. Yarn overs are always purled on the following wrong side row.
Cable Right: Slip the first two stitches on the left needle on to a cable needle and hold in back of work. Knit the next two stitches on the left needle like normal. Then knit the two stitches off the cable needle. Alternative Method: Going in front the first and second stitches on the left needle, insert the right needle as if to purl into the third and fourth stitches but instead pull all four stitches off the needle. Quickly put the first and second stitches back on the left needle. Then put the other two stitches from the right needle back onto the left needle. Now with this new order, knit these four stitches as normal.
Cable Left: Slip the first two stitches on the left needle on to a cable needle and hold in front of work. Knit the next two stitches on the left needle like normal. Then knit the two stitches off the cable needle. Alternative Method: Going behind the first and second stitches on the left needle, insert the right needle as if to purl into the third and fourth stitches but instead pull all four stitches off the needle. Quickly put the first and second stitches back on the left needle. Then put the other two stitches from the right needle back onto the left needle. Now with this new order, knit these four stitches as normal.
