  1. I guess I can not read a pattern. I do not understand what you symbols mean. Is an O a knit stitch, purl stich, yarn over or what. Can you help me with this. I do love serval of you patterns. I just have no clue what you symbols are directing me to do.

    Thank you,
    Lisa

    1. It looks like you cast on 21 stitches on the chart. The O,s are yarn overs. The empty boxes are knit I believe. The boxes with horizontal lines are purl stitches. The ones that look like chicken feet are center double decreases, where you decrease two stitches. There are some right leaning single decreases, where you decrease one stitch, and some left leaning single decreases, where you decrease one stitch. I know its been a year since you left the comment. I just stumbled across this and thought it couldn’t hurt to put my two cents in, you’ve either already figured it out and this could help someone who hasn’t or you still want to know.

  3. There is no symbol interpretation. Which are ssk and k2tog? What stitch is the – symbol. Thanks to anyone who replies

    1. I too was confused when looking at my first chart. If you google “knitting chart symbols” you will get a list that you can save or print for easy reference.

  4. Hi, I love this pattern, but I haven’t used a chart before can anyone explain the symbols please. Thanks

    1. o is a yarn over, blank square is a knit stitch, dash is a purl stitch and the two slanted triangles are ssk and k2tog decreases

  5. 0=yarn over
    left facing T = ssk
    right facing T = k2tog
    – = purl on rignt side/knit on wrong side
blank squares= knit on right side/purl on wrong side

  6. I like ur design , started to knit, followed chart, its easy but in rows 9 and 19 I end up having extra stitch, please tell me why?

  7. Because the chicken leg with 3 legs are knit three together by slipping the first 2 knitting the third then slipping the other two over the first
